So, we have Mary Elizabeth moving to Anthony/Torpoint at some time after the birth of Frederick, leaving the first two children apparently in the care of their grandparents. However, they too appear to have gravitated towards the banks of the Tamar. It is likely that descendants still live in the area.

The Mylor Half Cousins

Grandfather, Samuel John DREW, might have had only one surviving full first cousin (Jane, daughter of John DREW), but there were 11 half first cousins, the children of Edward George DREW-DINGEY and Mary Ann REID (or REED), of Mylor. Now, thanks to recent input from Gail and Maria, I have been able to fill out the details of several of these, and have been prompted to send off for certificates that might help with the remainder.

So, the following posts will be devoted to what we now know about them. I will work from the oldest to the youngest, and add in details as they come to hand.

E.G.Drew, the third of that name

Some idle Google searching led me last night to the Mylor-Flushing On-line Parish Clerk web page.

There, I found some DREW names amongst the various transcription, and some of them were "ours". Of particular interest was the marriage of Edward George DREW and Jane SANDERS on 27 April 1887, in Mylor. So, there's another name filled in! Going back to FreeBMD, Jane SANDERS is there as:
Marriages Jun 1887
Sanders Jane Falmouth 5c 277
but no sign of Edward George.

Moving on, I also found the baptism of the daughter, Irene Jane, even though she is recorded as Eileen Jane, on 17 July 1889.

Also found were the baptisms of Mary Elizabeth's children, Hester Ann and Frederic(k) in the C of E Baptisms, not the Wesleyan, where Mary Elizabeth herself was baptised.

The marriage of James Henry DREW to Esther Jane SPARGO is there, too, but as John Henry DREW.

Also, the baptisms pages show that when searching for information about the siblings of Mary Ann and their descendants, you need to be aware that the surname can be spelled REID, REED, or READ. Makes life interesting, at the very least.
